Olivia is a 2-time stroke survivor, former LVAD patient, and heart transplant recipient. In 2014, at the age of 25, Olivia suffered her first stroke and was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy. Four years later, she suffered another stroke and was in advanced-stage heart failure. Olivia had surgery for a Left Ventricular Assist Device (LVAD) to save her life. A year later, she had a heart transplant. Since then, she has been advocating and sharing her journey with other heart patients. The whole journey of heart failure had a profound impact on her because she was diagnosed at a young age. Olivia is currently writing a book called, "The Heart of Olivia Rose." This book will outline how she survived every obstacle meant to destroy her.
Olivia also loves to share her journey of how she made it through to demonstrate to new patients that they can do it too and to help them stay encouraged. Helping and motivating people has always been one of her dreams and now she can. Olivia’s faith in God has also played a significant role in her heart journey. She attributes her survival of heart failure to Him.
