A-FIB

Wow, was I shocked when I visited a cardiologist. For three years I've been getting short of breath, fatigued, and sick to my stomach especially in the morning, and no one could figure out what was wrong with me. My PCP sent me to a cardiologist and gastroenterologist. I was able to see the cardiologist first, which I was very happy about later.

I spoke to him for maybe 15 minutes. He asked me questions and did an electrical cardiogram. He said, "I know what's wrong with you. You are going right to the hospital, and I'll do a procedure on you tomorrow that'll fix you right up!"

Well, the procedure only worked for a week or more. I had to wear a heart monitor for two weeks, and I was still having what's called atrial fibrillation (aFib). The next step is to see an electrophysiologist. I go to see him in June. I'm pretty nervous about all of this. I never dreamed that I would have a heart problem.
