My Story

I went to the clinic because I could not breathe well. Before I knew it, they called for an ambulance which took me to the hospital. I was shocked when they told me I had advanced heart failure.

I am grateful for still being alive after six years. I have diabetes, COPD, and sarcoidosis in my lung. I was also recently diagnosed with hypercalcemia and hyperparathyroidism. This has affected my kidneys, and I am in stage 2 kidney failure. They found a nodule in one kidney that may be cancerous.

It can be scary to watch as things get worse. I watched my sister go through it. She died at age 50. I am 56 years old. I do not work, but I am still here! It is amazing that I have lived this long.

We should not be afraid of death. It ruins the time we have left. I don't plan on going yet! I have had a wonderful life.
