I Thought I Had Bronchitis

I went to the emergency room because I felt like I had symptoms of bronchitis. The ER physician stated that my chest x-ray revealed fluid around my lungs and heart failure. He said, "I will give you a prescription for Lasix and send you home." He looked at my face and asked, "What's wrong?" I said, "I had no idea I had heart failure." Then he admitted me.

I started a course of medication, but I really didn't understand my diagnosis. I went through several exacerbations, including one where my oxygen level dropped to 72 or lower. I felt myself going down and heard the nurse asking if I was OK and for the crash cart. Oxygen was placed on me by nasal cannula, and in a few minutes, I came to.

I went through many hospitalizations and medications. I finally have a cardiologist who listens to me, and we have a plan.
