Getting an ICD

As a child, I used to fall asleep whilst the kids went for their break. As I got older I got more breathless, especially with hay fever. Right up to marriage and a beautiful daughter I kept telling myself it was getting worse.

So, one year ago I went in for an MRI scan and an echocardiogram test. The left side of my heart was functioning at 26%, so I got an ICD. I feel like a new woman, and the specialist said he couldn’t tell how long I've had heart failure.
