Subtle symptoms, too easily ignored!

I am 81, and I have been on blood pressure medication for twenty years or more. Somehow I missed the message that I REALLY NEEDED TO MAKE SOME LIFESTYLE CHANGES.

I thought all I needed to do was swallow my pills. Eventually, I began having episodes of complete exhaustion to the point of almost collapsing. I did tell my doctor about it, but I didn't pursue treatment because I foolishly thought that feeling better after a brief rest meant it couldn't be that serious.

I was my husband's caretaker during that time. I didn't take care of myself.
