How did this happen to me?

Hi, my name is Meta, I always loved life and still do. I was a very healthy woman, I worked hard and was a people person. God blessed me with jobs I always wanted, and they were jobs where I was able to help others. I loved it. I worked in nursing homes working with the mentally disabled. All they wanted was love, and I was happy to give it back. I worked as a patient escort. l did so much.

First sign of heart failure: difficulty breathing

I have two grown daughters, grandkids, and a great-grandkid. I noticed one day when I was taking my grandson out to play, I was recording him on my phone, and I could hear myself breathing hard. I didn't pay much attention to it. When I would talk to my friend on the phone, they would say, "What have you been doing? You are breathing hard again." I didn't pay too much attention, I just thought I was overweight.

Trip to the hospital

One day, I told my daughter on the phone that I wanted her to come over and help with my friend who was sick at the time. I told her I was tired, and she could tell by the sound of my voice that something was wrong. Thank God, because when I went to lie down I just felt tired. She got to my place and said, "Mom, your white, you better go to the hospital." I said, "Oh, I'm alright."

She called her sister and I didn't have any choice, they got on me. Well, by the time the ambulance took me in, the doctors rushed and said, "You have to have a procedure, your organs are shutting down." I could hardly sign my name for the procedure to be done. My blood pressure somehow dropped dangerously too low.

I'm not giving up

They saved my life, but I found out that I have congestive heart failure. But God is still on the throne. I'm still working and helping people. I'm now a receptionist for a company that helps people. Anyone that has this condition knows you don't have the energy that you use to have. Don't give up, push yourself to continue to love life, and it will be okay. I am sending my love to you all.
