I have Heart Failure and reportary failure as well,

Hello, as I mentioned above,I have both ,with 24 hour oxygen, osteoarthritis but they will not operate so the orthopaedics have given me knee braces etc.
But the Heart has changed oocer the first diagnoses to now.
I was sat on my chair and out of the blue,my heart was climing in heart beatt, I got my finger test and my heart was racing 174 beats a minute so I waited a while then I rang the ambulance and three to four hours later ,suddenly my heart jumped back to normal again. They gave me some digoxine and after a night in hospital I was sent home. Then 3 weeks ago I was sat on my bed and the heart started racing again, 180 beats per minute so I spoke ambulance service they came straight away three hours later they said an operation or stop your heart for5 seconds and then all will be well,I was exhausted with the beat 3 hours has past and I was exhausted, I said do it stop my heart! Well I had a strange feel although my heart was stopped for 5 seconds does not sound long it was 1 rabbit 2 rabbit and so on, but that small length of time wile heart was stopped I felt like I have died !im on tablets to control it

  1. Hi. Good morning. And thank you for your post. I see you are new to our community, having just joined up a few hours ago. Welcome to our community. I am glad to see that you are already engaging in our FREE forum here by sharing your own personal heart experience. I was not there, but by what you are describing above sounds like what you experienced was a cardioversion. I have never had one done. But, as a respiratory therapist, I am often on hand when one is done when I am working. Yes, they give you a medicine (Adenosine is the one they use where I work) that stops your heart for a few seconds. And this is neat in that it allows your heart to reset itself and start beating normal again. It is nice for when it is needed -- and, as you note, my patients do tell me that it is a strange feeling when your heart is stopped for those few seconds. Thank you for sharing what your experience was like. Did your doctor (s) recommend any further treatment for you to prevent this from happening again? John. heart-failure.net community moderator.
