Living with blockages

Hope I'm in the right place. At age 37 I technically had a heart attack, caused by a 95 percent blockage towards the bottom of heart. They tried a stent but couldn't get through. So I was placed on mens. Flash forward to age 60 and I have two more blocks, a 50% and 65%. My cardiologist says they won't attempt a stent until 70% blockage but I'm so depressed because I can't do anything. I worked hard for 40 years but had to stop a year ago. Now about all I can do is lay in bed. Any little activity brings on shortness of breath and angina. Anyone living like this also? Any hope? Thanks

  1. Hi there, I'm so sorry to hear that you have been going through a hard time. This really must be so very frustrating for you. If you don't mind clarifying, what does 'on mens' mean? You stated you were put 'on mens' in your original post. Is there any chance you can get a second opinion of a treatment plan? Perhaps there is some other course of action? Just curious. All the best, Lauren (Team member)

    1. Oops, typo. On meds. Lol Doctor seems to think I can exercise, lose weight, ect. But I can't exercise as hardly anything brings on pain.

      1. Hi again! I'm sorry, I should have been able to figure that out. I can imagine that exercise is painful. Are you able to spread it out throughout the day to avoid extreme pain? For example, instead of walking around the block three times in a row, walk around the block three times throughout the day. -Lauren (team member)

    2. That's what I'm going to try. I'm also dealing with blood sugar numbers out of control so I'm constantly tired from that. Working with doctor on that issue but it's very hard to get their office to do any paperwork for Medicare to be able to get things I need. Seems like my health and the world is against me.

      1. ,
I'm saddened you feel this way yet understand your frustration.
If your doctor wants you to exercise perhaps he prescribed something for the pain/angina so you can tolerate exercise?
Perhaps your doctor can prescribe PT so you are exercising properly and under medical care.
I would recommend reaching out to your healthcare team to discuss your concerns.
