Low oxygen unpon rising

Has anyone had their oxygen drop and pulse increase after getting up from a time of relaxing. Most times my oxygen drops to 89 and pulse increases. I get so short of breath. It causes anxiety. I've had a full pulmonary workup and my lungs are good. I'm sure its the heart failure.

  1. Hi. Thank you for sharing your experience with the community. It’s great that your lungs are in good condition following your pulmonary workup. What you're describing—oxygen levels dropping and your pulse increasing after relaxing or standing—could indeed be related to your heart, especially with a history of heart failure. When you stand, your body has to adjust to the change in position, and your heart may be working harder to pump blood effectively. This can sometimes lead to symptoms like shortness of breath and anxiety. Have you had a chance to discuss this pattern with your cardiologist? John. community moderator.

    1. Hey John...thank you for your reply. Yes, I got in with my cardiologist last week, had an echo and recheck. My doctor wants to check lung pressures. He also wants to check to seen if I might possibly need a stent.
I am concerned about having an angiogram which is scheduled for next week. This is my third visit to this new cardiologist. He has maybe 10 years experience. I liked the fact that when I contacted his office due to worsening symptoms that I described, he was prompt to get me in for an echo. Maybe I'll get good news.

      1. You are welcome. Glad that you got checked out and that your doctor ordered the appropriate tests. Best of luck on the angiogram. Please do keep me/us posted on what you learn. John. community moderator
