Managing daily weight on diuretic

Hi all! I'm doing daily weights. Sometimes, I don't do them at the exact time because I forget. I use a digital scale. Twice, per my Dr instruction I've had to double my dose of bumex. I weighed my self this morning, and I'm up 1lb. I'm aware about the sodium intake, but I live with other people and I basically rely on what's in the fridge or whst they cook. I also have CKD can this also play a roll in weight gain?

  1. Great job staying consistant with daily weights. Daily weights is an effective way to stay on top of your fluid status. Are you feeling like the food at your house is not what your body needs? Can you ask those shopping and cooking to consider your sodium intake when creating lists and menus? -Lauren (team member)

    1. The woman, I consider my sister, she attemps to eat healthier with me, like tomatoe burgers, and baked chicken. Its a large family and they concerte on staples of food that matches. They wouldn't believe me if I mentioned low sodium for my health. because I don't stick to walking ( well were in a heat advisory) . Once, I move I'm interested in the Mediterranean diet.

      1. Thank you for sharing. I am sorry that your family would not believe your need for a low sodium diet. Would some education help them understand? Walking in the heat is tough! Personally, sometimes I will get my steps in by taking laps around Target, Home Depot, etc. - any large big box store with air conditioning! Or, our local Rec Center, also has an indoor track and is air conditioned! Lastly, you can also participate in Phase 3 Cardiac Rehab so you could get your exercise in the heat? Just a few ideas! I hope this helps. Morgan (heart-failure.net Moderator)
