What is normal oxygen level
lauren.mullin Community Admin
Hi there! A normal pulse ox reading is about 92% or greaters. Those with different health conditions can be considered safe at a slightly lower level. Do you feel comfortable checking in with your doctor to see what is the appropriate level for you? -Lauren (team member)

Thank you for reaching out. I'm holding steady. I'm on hospice now but my decline has been slow. Only thing I have trouble with is pain in both arms. In morning I can barely lift myself up & have to pull with my legs. Tylenol helps a lot. So how is your health doing?

Hi there, thanks for sharing so openly. I'm glad to hear that you are able to use Tylenol to help with the pain. Take care, you are in our thoughts. -Lauren (Team member)

Hi there Steve, do you have a pulse ox monitor at home? Do you tend to reach for oxygen when your pulse ox reaches a certain level or more so based on symptoms? Just curious. -Lauren (Team member)

Hi there, thanks for sharing your specific situation. For many patients with COPD, the acceptable pulse ox level is 88% or greater before oxygen is added. I'm linking an article from our sister site COPD.net. https://copd.net/clinical/interpreting-oxygen-levels This article discusses the goal oxygen levels for someone with COPD. Have you had a chance to check out COPD.net as an extra resource? All the best, Lauren (Team member)
