Thank you for finding this community. Many of us have been in your shoes. Myself, I was also diagnosed after a catastrophic (SCAD induced) heart attack. First of all, have you seen a pattern as to when your breathing issue are worse? Ie, bending over, laying flat, etc? That is useful information. It's only been a month, and it can take the meds that you are are on awhile to do their thing, so it's entirely possible that you will still see improvement. Are you on sodium and fluid restrictions? How is that going? How is your activity level? Lastly, it is very scary. I can tell you that you will adjust as time goes on, but this is a period that you just have to get through (unfortunately). Do you have a mental health professional that you can talk to? Does your clinical team have a social worker that you can speak with? Would you consider antidepressants? For me, the combination of mental health support and medication got me through. I was diagnosed at 35 and was petrified, if that helps? Hang in there! Even if it's only for a minute, try to take a short walk every day and 'smell the flowers' as they say. Life will not return to normal, but it's very possible to still see improvement. You are only a month out - you do not know what the future holds. Take it one day at a time, surround yourself with those who care about you and hang in there😀 Virtual hug!
