When I Was First Diagnosed

When I was first diagnosed with heart failure I thought my life was over. The doctors told me that I'd have to slow down and basically sit at home and do nothing every day. My heart was at 25% when I was first diagnosed.

I didn't want to sit around and do nothing, so I changed up my diet. I do construction for work, and I wasn't going to let my condition get the better of me. I kept a positive attitude like I always do, stayed just as active, and kept on chugging along.

Five years later my heartbeat is at 50% when the doctor said that my heart wouldn't get any more than 35%. As long as you stay positive and don't dwell on the negative things I think that nothing can stop you from proving the doctors wrong.
