Hard Time Breathing

I have trouble breathing. I have been in the hospital twice within the last five months. I also swell up in my stomach area. When I am in the hospital they concentrate on getting the fluid out of me, but once I am home it builds back up really fast.

I can hardly eat anything with salt in it. My doctor acts like he doesn't know what else to do. I am prayerful that he will find out what's really going on. I have stage 3 kidney disease and diabetes, too. Thanks for listening.

All I can say is that you are in the right place with a community who have stories similar to yours. I will say that you should seek the counsel of your doctors, more times than not we have to become our own advocates. I remember when I couldn't breathe while laying down and my cardiologist wasn't taking me seriously. Luckily, I had a primary care doctor who stayed on top of things. Unfortunately, I was later diagnosed with advanced heart failure. Everyone is different though, everyone has their own experiences. I hope this helped.</p>

<p>I totally understand where you're coming from because it has happened to me on more than one occasion. I spoke with my doctor the last time I was in and let her know that I was having the same complications, and she did recommend that I double-up on my Furosemide, but was concerned and told me to do it every so often, not every day because it can lead to other complications. I'm a diabetic (diabetes type 2) who's Anemic and have Congestive Heart Failure, so I DO understand. I'm not a doctor and don't know if I can recommend to you what I'm doing, but the goal is to keep you out of the hospital (much like me). I was in and out of the hospital multiple times for fluids around my heart and lungs, inability to breathe, sometimes I felt like a weight was sitting on my chest. I haven't been hospitalized for the past two years now. If your doctor allows it, please make sure you ask, do double up if necessary but not all the time because of your Stage 3 Kidney disease. Be kind to your body, love. And you may need to drink less water. I can only drink 6 eight-ounce cups of water daily. I do hope this helps you as it's helped me considerably. True, everyone is different, but you never know. I hope you start feeling better real soon! </p>
