Daughter of patient with CHF 18% ejection fracture & stage 4 ckd

Hello,
As seen in my topic title my Dad (83) has a lot going on. I had to pull his license in November due to health issues as well. I’m looking for guidance on how to keep him positive and what I am in for as sole caregiver.

  1. Caring for an aging parent through multiple health challenges can be emotionally and physically demanding, and it’s understandable to be looking for guidance. Keeping your dad involved in decisions, maintaining routines, encouraging independence where possible, and focusing on the things he can still do can help support his sense of purpose and positivity.

As a sole caregiver, it’s also important to build a support system around both of you. Consider involving his healthcare team, exploring caregiver resources, and making sure you have help with planning, appointments, and daily needs. Caregiver well-being is an important part of providing long-term care.

Wishing you and your dad strength as you navigate this journey together.

  2. Thank you for sharing your experience. It really highlights how difficult and unpredictable hATTR fatigue can be. I admire your strength and positive attitude despite these daily challenges. I hope you continue to have more good days, find the support you need, and enjoy the moments that matter most. Wishing you all the best on your journey.
