Heart failure / bladder control

For some reason I have lost bladder control since heart attack. I can handle alot of things but I'm very depressed over this

  1. Getting older and showing signs of older age from medications and medical trauma exposure can definitely play with someone’s psyche. Mixed emotions can play a huge part of one’s ability psyche. Have you seen a doctor or received a referral for your incontinence? Leslie (Community Moderator)

    1. It's weekend so Monday but I'm only 62

      1. Are you short of breath? I have hf and COPD. If I get very sob, I better stand still . Keeping control gets difficult and I'm not in any shape to run to the bathroom. I was told when more oxygen is needed, it takes it way from muscles in that area.

        1. I've had many days I feel the same so no need to apologize. There could be more than one reason for your problem . I would discuss it with your OB/Gyn. Friend of mine thats 57 just had sling (day)surgery and said she is glad she can laugh, sneeze , lift without wetting herself

        2. lol yes I did that before really . Yes that would be nice ty

      2. I have experience that also except the cause in my case was from a complete hysterectomy that I had years ago. I started doing kegel exercise and other pelvic exercise. It helped a lot to the point that I don’t do the exercise every day. Also, as we age the pelvic muscles gets weaker. I know this is true for females. Lifting and straining can also contribute to the problem.

        1. I have started the exercise. I do it while sitting at stop lights or just watching TV. Nobody even knows
