Pandemic and heart failure

I went to an ER where a former cardiologist had privileges. I had been coughing for a few days, which was disrupting my sleep, and thought it was bronchitis. The ER doctor came in, said I tested negative for coronavirus but had fluid around my lungs due to heart failure. He said he would prescribe Lasix and discharge me. Huh?! Instead, he admitted me. It took several years after that for me to get a definitive diagnosis of diastolic heart failure.

  1. Wow, thanks for sharing your diagnosis experience. It must have been very jarring to learn that you had heart failure when you thought it was bronchitis! How are you making out these days with your heart failure? Have you found a good cardiologist? All the best, Lauren (Team member)
