That is a good question - but they are not called heart failure cardiologist. For example, I see a doctor who only treats heart failure patients, and he is a called an Advanced Heart Failure doctor. There are fewer of them, so you might have to be willing to travel to see one, and I would start with the larger systems. For instance, here in Michigan, I think only 3 hospital systems in the state have Advanced Heart Failure Doctors, and they are typically connected with the hospitals who offer heart transplants.
