Heart healthy diets

I'm looking for recommendations for Heart Healthy diets that also will help with weightloss as well. I appreciate any and all help and recommendations.

  1. Thank you for utilizing our community to get some advice! I know that you will probably get lots of ideas here, as most people have found what works for them. For me, it is a combination of diet AND having a realistic plan in how we are going to make the food. From a diet perspective, I've found that the Mediterranean diet has a good combination of low sodium, a moderate amount of dairy and animal meat and lots of vegetables and whole grains. I would recommend checking that out. However, the other thing that is important is that CONSISTENTLY is key, and I've realized that there are times I will be too tired to cook. If I don't make sure I have food ready to go, then I end up getting take out or premade food items all of which contain too much salt and/or fat. To that end, my partner and I have embraced meal prepping and batch cooking. It can be annoying as we end up eating the same thing for lunch every week, or the same dinner a few nights in a row, but we have found that it's the only to stay consistent with the diet.
