How do you prepare for a doctor's visit?

Whether it's writing down questions and concerns or simply managing your nerves, preparing for your doctor's visit is helpful both for you and your healthcare team.

  1. Arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.
    Make a list of questions and prioritize your concerns.
    Bring an ID, insurance cards and medications.
    Ask somebody to come with you.
    Keep your provider up-to-date.

    1. Hi there and thanks for commenting. I couldn't agree more with your list of helpful hints as to how to prepare for a doctor's appointment. Personally, I find it helpful to have a friend or family member with me for important appointments. Having a second set of ears listening is very helpful for me.
