My Ef dropped is that normal

When I first had my Stemi with congestive heart failure my EF was 30 then it went up to 50 now it’s back to 38 it has me nervous I have a follow up next week

  1. Welcome to the heart failure community. I’m sorry to hear that your EF has been fluctuating. Have you discussed your concerns about your EF with your cardiologist? Leslie (Community Moderator)

    1. Not yet my follow up is next week

      1. Hi. I see you are new to our community, having just joined up a few days agu (August 9). I would like to take this time to welcome you to our community. Glad to see you are already participating here in the forums. I see you received a response above from my colleague . I think she has a great recommendation about talking to your cardiologist. I also have something to add. It's completely natural to feel nervous about fluctuations in your EF levels. However, it may help to know that your EF may fluctuate based on various factors. So, this is why it is a good idea to talk to your cardiologist, who will assess your situation and likely offer advice on whether this is a cause for concern and what steps you could consider if needed. Talking to your doctor is another great way of easing your mind. What do you think? John. community moderator

        1. I agree thank you I have some questions when I have my follow up I just wondered if people had the same problem and how it was handled

          1. Hi. I did not realize that you and were the same person. Your above comment makes more sense now. I was a little confused. Am I right to assume both of these accounts are yours. This would clarify my confusion. That said, that's great you have an appointment next week. I hope you do keep us posted as to what you learn. All the best. John. community moderator.

          2. I’ve been in heart failure multiple times throughout my life and I’m almost positive that my EF has fluctuated while I was in and out heart failure. There could be a multitude of reasons why your EF has fluctuated. I had a lot of blockages that needed coiled. It helped for a while, but inevitably I had to have a heart transplant. Hope everything goes well in your upcoming appointment. Leslie (Community Moderator)
