I posted a couple of months ago when my partner was waiting for an appointment with a cardiologist. He had a long and informative appointment, ECG didn't show anything 'worrying' but due to the angina symptoms/sleep apnoea, swelling in his legs and laboured breathing, the consultant decided he should have a CT angiogram.
I chased the appointment up this morning (been waiting 5 weeks) and am told my partner is next on the list, so shouldn't be long now.
He's had one before (when he had viral myocarditis 5 yrs ago) but that was in a different hospital, and records seem impossible to get hold of (we're in the UK), so the consultant thought it would be quicker to get it done again.
I've read up on the procedure which sounds unpleasant but fairly commonplace. I just felt it might ease our concerns to hear from people who've had the procedure more recently than 5 years ago ...has it changed much in that time?
I also wonder how much of a factor recent weight gain is on the symptoms, the angina in particular. 4 years ago he had a very physical job with no ill effects but has put on 4 stone since covid/lockdown and changing jobs to something far more sedentary.
Could weight loss be a 'game-changer'?
Thank you in advance for any replies.
