Developing pulmonary hypertension as a result of HF

I’m wondering how many of us have developed pulmonary hypertension as a result of the left sided heart failure.

That's a great question, and I hope others affected will chime in here.
In the meantime, I thought I'd share this link from a fellow community member: https://heart-failure.net/stories/left-sided.

    1. Hello there! My aunt recently developed pulmonary hypertension secondary to left heart failure. It's been a difficult but manageable road to walk. Would love to know of others going through the same and share experiences and tips.

I'm sorry to hear what your aunt is going through.
As I mentioned in the previous comment, I hope this strikes up conversation for others to share their experiences. In the meantime, I'll be keeping your aunt in my thoughts. Warmly, Doreen (Team Member)

    2. From what I understand, developing pulmonary hypertension (PH) due to left-sided heart failure — especially when the left ventricle isn’t pumping well — is pretty common. When the heart can’t move blood forward efficiently, it causes pressure to build up behind it, which eventually affects the lungs. That extra pressure in the pulmonary arteries is basically how PH can start to develop.
