Red wine

Has anyone been diagnosed with LVEF 25% and been so good but then a week later just fancied a bottle of red wine? I feel fine

  1. Thank you for reaching out to this community. At one point my EF was 25% (ish). Even now though I still fancy things I cannot have, and I still fancy a cocktail. I try and find substitutes that I consider treats, so I can tell myself I'm having a treat but it's something that I can have. When I fancy a drink, honestly a good walk can help distract me? How do you cope? Morgan (heart-failure.net Moderator)

    1. Its my wife actually. She misses a wine on the weekend. Our whole life has changed and we miss the weekend wine drinking in the garden.

      1. I get that completely. I have found other things that create an ambiance, and by playing around with it it is actually fun. Are you guys into mocktails? You could do mocktail tastings in your garden, while listening to your favorite music? There are lots of ways to relax if you are creative about it. Don't give up! 2. Hi there, I wanted to embellish on the topic of mocktails. Recently, while experimenting with mocktails, we came across a brand of gourmet maraschino cherries that elevated every drink. Just a thought if you are trying to make things fun and fancy! All the best, Lauren (team member)

    2. Thanks for your question, you could try nonalcoholic wine and beer although it isn't the same. They also have nonalcoholic whiskey and like Lauren and Morgan suggested mocktails. You can also try flavored sparkling water as well. I hope this information helps. -Olivia
