Terrified of symptoms. Waiting to get into cardiologist.

I have had three episodes over the last 6 months of heart palpitations, vomiting/dizziness, sweating, diarrhea, and nausea. During my most recent episode, I took my BP and pulse throughout. It peaked at 160/90 with a pulse of 115, which went to normal at the end of my episode. I am so scared of what it could be. I had a brief episode of Afib about 10 years ago, wore a heart monitor for a week, and everything was fine. Boating season is coming and I dont want to be sick! Anyone had anything like this before?

  1. Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the community. In the past, what symptoms prompted the decision to wear a heart monitor? Are these similar symptoms? Have you had a chance yet to check in with your doctor? Checking in with your physician should be your first step, especially since you have a fun summer planned. Please let us know how you make out! -Lauren (team member)

    1. Hi! Thanks for yout reply. In the past I was being monitored for Afib because I went into that while undergoing kidney stone surgery. I will me meeting with my GI and a cardiologist in a few days..

  2. Hello! I have had experience with vomiting and nausea, but I was suffering from heart arrhythmia. You should seek the advice of your doctors since they are better suited to answer your question. I am linking an article about heart palpitations that should be helpful to you. I hope it helps! https://heart-failure.net/living/palpitations -Olivia

  3. I know how scary those episodes can be. I've also experienced those same type of symptoms. I can share is that you are not alone and that this is a normal reaction to new or more frequent episodes.
Contact your doctor there are new heart monitors now that are so easy to wear and have no wires. If it's been several years since you had any cardiac testing that may be something to talk to your doctor about. Good luck, and enjoy your boating season.
