Heart Failure & Maintaining Quality of Life

Coping and maintaining ones' quality of life can be difficult with all the challenging symptoms, impaired physical function, treatment demands, stress, and so much more. How does one living with heart failure deal with the impact it has on their everyday life?

  1. Great Question

    1. The two most practical and healthy practices for me are exercise and diet control. Neither one of them has to be extreme for me to feel like I'm having a positive impact on my condition and lifestyle.

      1. same for me. My goal now is to avoid weight gain by a new way of eating watching and eliminating high sale and sodium foods plus almost daily vigorous exercise.

      2. What a great goal! I'm glad to hear you have a plan in place. For me, sometimes if I'm not feeling up to vigorous exercise, a walk will help me get into the mood to work out harder. Just a thought. All the best, Lauren (team member)

    2. Exercise, good diet and being mindful are the best ways to manage heart diseases. yes, exercising will have a great impact on heart's health. And good diet will show you a tremendous change in overall health and well being. Always remember, Good food=Good Mood=Good Health=Good Life

      1. It's so great to hear that you are exercising, on a diet that works for you, and using mindfulness to manage your heart failure. Thank you for sharing, I am sure others will appreciate your ideas! ❤️ Best, Amani (Heart-Failure.net team)

    3. I started exercising and changed my diet and tremendous results took place

      1. What changes did you make to your diet?

      2. I cut down on salt and sugar. I ate more fruits and vegetables (I Love Broccoli), didnt drink soda for a long time.
