Medications

I recommend that you find out right up front how much your heart failures are going to cost, because when the free samples dry up the monthly amount is overwhelming and may cause you to have to discontinue some meds that were helping. Most Medicare patients do not qualify for any assistance from the drug companies

  1. Hi. I appreciate your insight, and you've highlighted a crucial aspect of managing heart failure that often goes overlooked. The financial burden can indeed be overwhelming, especially when free samples are no longer available. It's disheartening that many Medicare patients struggle to qualify for assistance. Were you able to come up with ways to get the medicines that you need? John. community moderator

    1. Costs do add up for medications, however I never heard of medications cost a lot with Medicare benefits. Perhaps, I’m wrong. I do know that I was paying around $600 a month for all the medication I took pre- transplant. Hope you are doing well. Have you used Good RX or any other programs that help offset the cost?
