Online Doctor for prescription?

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and looking for advice on using online doctors for prescriptions. Has anyone had any experiences or recommendations they can share? I'm particularly interested in how the process works and if it's as convenient as it sounds. Thanks in advance for your help!

  1. Hi there! And welcome to this community. Are you looking for a telehealth doctor? 1. Hello and thanks for your question. From my knowledge it's like a regular appointment, the doctor will ask you about your medical history and what symptoms you are having. As far as medications go, I'm not sure how they prescribe them from what I read depending on your insurance and the state where the pharmacy is licensed to sell the prescription. -Olivia

      1. Hi! Online doctor visits feel like regular appointments. They ask about your history and symptoms. Meds are prescribed based on your insurance and state rules. It’s quite convenient!

        1. Thank you for sharing. Do you have a heart failure team and is this how you primarily communicate with them? Morgan (heart-failure.net Moderator)

        2. Hi there! Thanks for chiming in. Personally, I happen to love online appointments when no physical assessment is needed. I think its quicker and easier for everyone if only a conversation is necessary. Thanks for sharing your similar point of view. -Lauren (team member)

      2. I did have a difficult experience when I changed my in person appointment to a virtual one by phone with my endocrinologist, then could not get the supply company I use for continuous glucose monitor sensors to ship product for several months. It took them three months to figure out why they could not ship and it turned out to be because my appointment had not been “face to face”.

        1. Thank you for sharing, that sounds like a very frustrating experience. Have you ever had that happen before? Morgan (heart-failure.net Moderator)
