  1. Hi. Thank you for your post and for your question. I see you are new to our community, having just joined yesterday. Welcome to our community. Glad to see that you are already engaging in the forums here. Those are some great tips to share with the community -- plus some good questions as well. I do look forward to hearing what community members have to say about your questions. I am aware that sleeping with your head up can help with breathing, and with your feet up can help with swelling in your feet and ankles. I have also seen studies showing that sleeping on your right side can also be helpful with heart failure. I will have to do further studies to learn why this is. I am not sure about your question when to take furosimide. Perhaps other community members will chime in with their thoughts to this question. Or this also may be a good one for your doctor. I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best. John. heart-failure.net community moderator.

      1. thank you .

    3. In reference to your question about sleeping positions, I personally used two pillows to elevate my head and sleep on my side. As a former congenital heart patient, I was told by my pediatric cardiologist as a child to use two pillows to help with my breathing and sleep on the left side or on my back.

As an patient who was prescribed Lasix for a little over 20 years, early on I took my pills around 7 am and 7 pm, but as time went on I changed it to predominantly in the evening hours such as 7 or 8 pm at night simply because I was a teacher who had a classroom full of students and I didn’t have the luxury to run to the bathroom every 5 minutes.
