Aortic Valve Replacement

I am scheduled for a TAVR to replace my valve. This has come very fast after shifting from having a murmur to needing a new valve. I am 72 and the interventional surgeon explained that people my age have an average of 9 years after surgery. I cannot stop focusing on this. I think I have been hoping to live into my 90's and now feel like death is so near. I am weepy and want to focus on the positive and one day at a time, but have not gotten there yet.

  1. Just know not to get discouraged by what the surgeon said. Every person's body responds to treatments differently. Although I know it's challenging try to keep a positive mind. We as a community are here for you. I've attached some articles written by some people in the community about aortic valve replacement. -Olivia
