What does having the alternate alleles mean with rs1041740 I have T/T and according to the site linked below it counts as a cardiovascular risk.

Great question. To answer your question, this is an area of science and medicine that is still relatively new to researchers (it was started in the 1980s). And it is neat now that they are learning about what specific "genes" are linked to certain diseases such as ours.
