Monica Rockwell
We are extremely saddened to say that on April 10, 2024, Monica Rockwell passed away. We are so honored that she shared her story and experience with our community. She will be deeply missed.
My journey with Heart Failure began in 2013 at the tender age of 38. I’m on home oxygen concentrator tank at 02 liters. My last annual echocardiogram showed my heart went from functioning at 55% to 65%. I started out only being able to walk 5 minutes before giving out of breath. Two years ago, I gradually increased my walking from 30 minutes to an hour. I take generic Singular 30 minutes before I go walking. I participated in three Walkathons a year. I’ve progressed from being on my portable oxygen concentrator tank 24/7 to sleeping on it at night. In 2023, I completed the 60 Miles Walk Challenge for Heart Disease. The total miles were 74.4.
