Heart failure

For the past 18 months I have suffered dreadfully from food and liquid sticking in my throat and more often than not, having to vomit it up ad will not go down!!! I would be interested if anyone else suffers from this very debilitating problem and if it is connected to heart failure???

  1. Oh my! What you are describing sounds awful. I'm so sorry you have to experience such a thing. Have you had a chance to check in with your doctor? I think that seeing a doctor would be your best first step. What do you think? -Lauren (team member)

    1. Hi Lauren, yes, am under my upper GI Consultant but to no avail. A few years ago I had a hiatus hernia which, when wrapped, appeared to stop the problem which only occurred every couple of weeks. However it has been found that the hernia has started again but my consultant says it is certainly too small to have any effect which is now a daily occurrence!! I am on omeprazole but to no avail. I have been back to see my Dr who has again referred me back to my consultant..I now wait for him to make an appointment. In the meantime, unfortunately, I am losing weight due to lack of eating a decent meal under the circumstances!!!!

      1. That sounds so difficult. Perhaps in the meantime, while you wait for an appointment, you might wish to talk to a dietician who can help you determine what foods can be safely and comfortably eaten so you can get the nutrition you need without losing more weight. Your GI consultant's office might be able to recommend a good dietician to you. All the best, Kathy (Team member)
